Owing to popular demand within the local community, Wolfeton Manor is pleased to continue offering a short stay service, called respite care.

The service is designed to provide anyone needing a short term break to experience the excellent facilities Wolfeton Manor has to offer. As well as offering the client a holiday, it can sometimes help the main carer with a much needed rest.

Amongst the stunning landscape gardens in the village of Charminster lies Wolfeton Manor.

Supported by Affinity Group, it is a purpose-built care home close to the historic market town of Dorchester. With a firm emphasis on dignity and independency, wrapped in person-centred care, residents are cared for by a team of dedicated, expert staff.

The home has capacity to care for up to 31 residents who require both short or long-term respite care. Each room has en-suite facilities, the option of additional living room space, and residents can also utilise the homes bath and shower areas.

Every member of staff is highly experienced and has been through extensive training to ensure they can provide the best quality care to every individual resident. Over 40 members of staff work meticulously to ensure every resident’s needs are met and their commitment to provide a person-centered approach is second to none. Wolfeton Manor pride themselves on never employing agency staff.

Wolfeton Manor believe respite care is an extremely important part of any care plan, especially if the care given requires 24-hour support for an illness or health condition. This type of support can be extremely difficult for families and loved ones to offer which is the aim of respite care is to give carers a break so that they can also have time for themselves while offering those being cared for new scenery and a chance to meet new people. There are so many benefits to the respite care that Wolfeton Manor offers: reducing isolation periods, promotes independence, minimises stress, a chance to develop new hobbies and interests, experiences new things, be part of a large social circle, and many more.

Meal times can be very lonely when living on your own, therefore, Wolfeton Manor understands that this is a great chance to be social with others. As well as opening up opportunities for residents to get together and be social with one another, Wolfeton also offers a healthy, balanced and nutritious meal plan that can be catered to all specific likes, dislikes and requirements. There is also the option for residents to dine in their room if they so wish to. The weekly menu is diverse and nutritious offering lots of healthy and tasty options that range from Mushroom Risotto to Poached Haddock with Lemon Butter, Cheese & Potato Pie, Key Lime Pie, and Rhubarb Crumble.
